#NewSound Jake Alder – Let The Dark In (ft. Charlotte Turnbull)
Enlisting hypnotic vocalist Charlotte Turnbull (The Voice UK 2015), East London producer and composer Jake Alder releases his super addictive second single ‘Let The Dark In’. Jake uses the juxtaposition of ‘darkness’ over an up-tempo production/melody to transcend messages of positivity to his listeners, commenting, “Let The Dark In is about not letting things get in between a relationship no matter what is thrown their way.”
Classically trained from the age of 10, Jake taught himself how to produce other genres of music ranging from electronic to more pop sounds. Today this has allowed versatility within his music as he is able to draw on a range of melodies that give his productions a rich finish. Spending the majority of his teens playing in various rock bands and performing at gigs within both Oxford and Birmingham O2 Academies he has also featured on some great line-ups including one with phenomenal singer/songwriter Jake Bugg. 2015/16 were monumental years musically for Jake as it was the beginning of his journey into exploring different genres in music, taking inspiration from Norwegian producer Kygo and British sensations Years & Years his love for electronic music blossoms as well as his love for the art of remixing.
