“We are part of the process of undressing. Influencers, personalities whom we follow on social media undress. For a large sector of the population, anything these personalities wear or remove from their bodies is a fashion statement. People want to adopt this statement.
We are rapidly approaching the stage of fashion and clothes that are beyond gender. Fashion is an art that deals with the human body. A body is merely a body. It can be of a man, a woman, and anything in between. Clothing is a trans-format that can be worn by anybody regardless of its sexuality. In the coming seasons, we will see items of clothing that depart from the classic “shirt”, “trousers” and “jacket” and will see instead a symbiosis of garments.
The social networks and the worlds of sharing breach every border of privacy and in the future, people will expose themselves more and more in order to receive attention. Total nudity has not yet become mainstream but transparent clothes hinting to and emphasizing nudity, will become increasingly common. We predict that the fashion house collection will include transparent and semitransparent clothes and increased use of colours that imitate skin colour. The clothes will continue to be close-fitting and highlight the body’s curves.
Combining the rich and breathtaking variety of flowers has always been a significantly influential motif of the beauty and fashion worlds. When we shed our covers as part of the ongoing trend of nudity we also allow nature to ‘crewel in’ and replace the artificial. Flowers are the garments of nature.
This forecast reveals a design development signalling a change in the way that flowers influence the fashion world. The visuality of the floral world and vegetation will influence textile prints, 3D elements in clothing, makeup, hair design, home styling and others.”
