ONE BY ONE BRAND AND LVIV HISTORY MUSEUM – To the 130th anniversary of one of the most important museums of Ukraine

This year the prominent Ukrainian Lviv History Museum celebrates its anniversary which has been gathering the crumbs of Ukrainian inheritance bit by bit for 130 years to tell people the history of their country.

After visiting the LHM and seeing with their own eyes the pearls of the museum collection, One by One’s fashion brand team decided to join the popularization of the museology and engage a wider audience in the exploration of the masterpieces of Ukrainian cultural heritage. In cooperation with curators of LHM, the brand created a capsule collection to make a proof that the fashion industry is not staying a part of the cultural values, and vice versa, like a driving force, helps to push it forward, making modern, and spread within the young generation.

Ukraine saves and protects exceptional exhibits on the walls of its museums, and the brand One by One is recreating such masterpieces on fashionable and wearable items – hoodies, T-shirts, anoraks, cargoes, caps, shoppers and thermocups.

“The knowledge of history is getting more sense now because each Ukrainian feels the importance of connection with generations. Our past is also our future. Thanks to difficulties and contrary to dark times, the Ukrainian nation is becoming more powerful – largely due to the strong and ardent bond to the cultural heritage. We cherish, take pride, and we are truly interested in our history.

DNA of the Ukrainian brand One by One has deep roots in the history of our country, our land as well as reconsideration of national codes in modern fashion. “We always have to remember where we come from, where our roots are and know the history of our country. History – is the way of development”, – assured the brand. That is why after the opening of the flagship store in the city of Lviv, it was highly important for One by One’s owners and the team to feel in contact with the cultural heritage of the city which is also called a ‘museum town’. What epithets were awarded to the city of Lion: “Royal City”, “The pearl of the crown of Europe”, “Tiny Paris”, “The Ukrainian Piedmont” …

By lucky chance this year the prominent Lviv History Museum celebrates its anniversary which has been gathering the crumbs of Ukrainian inheritance bit by bit for 130 years to tell people the history of our country. After visiting the LHM and seeing with their own eyes the pearls of the museum collection, the One by One’s team decided to join the popularization of the museology and engage a wider audience in the exploration of the masterpieces of Ukrainian cultural heritage. In cooperation with curators of LHM, the brand created a capsule collection to make a proof that the fashion industry is not staying a part of the cultural values, and vice versa, like a driving force, helps to push it forward, making modern, and spread within the young generation. The main message of the collaboration is that going to the Ukrainian museum is a true art adventure, and wearing clothes made together with cultural organizations – is an important civil position and an awesome fashion choice. Ukraine saves and protects exceptional exhibits on the walls of its museums, and the brand One by One is recreating such masterpieces on fashionable and wearable items – hoodies, T-shirts, anoraks, cargoes, caps, shoppers and thermocups.

Among the images that appear in the collection: a picture of panoramic Lviv by Aurelio Passerotti of the end of the 16th and beginning of the 17th century in the form of Abraham Hogenberg’s colourful engraving of the year 1618; the spears of the Roman period flag 2nd – 3rd century; the sculpture “The Mermaid” from the front of the building of the Military School on Pełczyński pond of the year 1820; the banknote of the national credit card denomination of 100 hryvnas of the year 1918. These outstanding pieces become central figures of the merch, and the combined logo of the museum and brand will complement the prints.

And let our masterworks stay safely under the museum glass, but their images and spirit of the story will come alive on the streets of the city. It is said that people are met by clothes, so why not put a sense in it, and convert it into an eloquent attribute which can independently and unvarnished become a transmitter of the past into the future?”

*The part of gathered money will be transferred into the fund of the museum.
