One to watch: Aquario

Matthias Kempe -Scheufler – Paul Ende

Christmas surprise! Aquario has come up with something very special for the holidays: In his new single “Candle”, the queer cinematic pop artist from Leipzig, Germany tells the story of two lost wanderers who only perceive a pale glimmer of light from afar in the nighttime forest. Hopeful, they walk on. But where might this light lead?

“Fairy tales have always been a great inspiration for me. In ‘Candle’ we find ourselves in a mysterious setting of a late autumn forest at night. Brothers Grimm style in principle. Like in ‘Sterntaler’ or ‘Hansel and Gretel’. Even if you’re lost and the situation seems precarious, it’s always hope that ultimately gives you the spark for the best strategy to rise above yourself to reach your goal – even if that goal usually ends up looking different than you imagined. That’s the true meaning of the track.”

Aquario releases “Candle,” an intimate piano ballad for the holiday season in which he vocally explores the gentle timbre of his lower register, creating the cosy warmth of candlelight in an autumnal forest cabin.
