One to watch: Cock&Saucer

#Introducing Cock&Saucer, Brighton based t-shirt and life style brand turning heads. The KALTBLUT team talks to designer and owner Simon Nix about his experiences working and running Cock&Saucer. Inspired from sex, nostalgia, a filthy mouth and those gay cliche moments. Shot by Karl Slater with Nii Agencies Charlie Parker.

KALTBLUT: Please tell us a little about your self and the journey that led you to this point.

SIMON: Cock&Saucer started off as a little bit of fun whilst painting obscenities (probably drunk) over some old c(r)ockery I had in the kitchen. My background is in Art, Design and Hair. I enjoy any kind of creativity and love being able to pretty much create what the fuck I like.  Doing this for several years I wanted to evolve the brand and translate my designs in a different way. For me t-shirts are a great form of expression and to see others wearing my clothing is a great feeling.

KALTBLUT: What’s your inspection behind your collections?

SIMON: My designs are heavily inspired from sex, my own nostalgia, a filthy mouth and those gay cliche moments. My target audience are those who are confident in who they are and not afraid of turning heads, whether that be in admiration or disgust.

KALTBLUT:  Who would you most like to see wearing your clothes?

SIMON: Kim Woodburn

KALTBLUT:Who’s your favourite fashion icon?

SIMON: Grace Jones.

KALTBLUT: Whats the best piece of advice you were ever given?

SIMON: Fuck ‘em, if they can’t take a joke.

KALTBLUT: Why did you become a designer?

SIMON: It’s just another form of me exercising my creativity on a daily basis. It was that or being on the dole, watching Trisha.

KALTBLUT: do you  have a guilty pleasure?

SIMON: Yeah, Trisha.

KALTBLUT: What superpower would you love to have for 24 hours?

SIMON: Time Travel.

KALTBLUT:If you only had £10 left in your pocket what would you spend it on?

SIMON: Probably Some Cigarettes.

KALTBLUT: Which flavour of ice cream best describes your personality?

SIMON: “Tutti Frutti” (With A “Good Booty”)

KALTBLUT: What does the Future hold for Cock and Saucer?

SIMON: More Filth!…. and Crops!! Any excuse for my followers to share more of their flesh.
