In Berlin, a city known for its artistic energy, one dynamic creative duo is making waves with their screen printing and design studio. Pamela Guest and Alex Schiller, the masterminds behind Paal World, have transformed a simple hobby into a passionate endeavour that celebrates the intersection of art, community, and self-expression.
It started in 2020 when Guest and Schiller crossed paths and discovered a shared love for connecting people through art. Their collaboration quickly flourished, fuelling their desire to create unique spaces that reflect the diversity and vitality of Berlin’s creative scene. Drawing inspiration from a myriad of subcultures, Paal World Pop Ups embody experimentation, playfulness, and a steadfast commitment to uplifting local artists.
In November of last year, the duo organised the inaugural PAAL WORLD & FRIENDS event, which received a great response and was deemed a success. Due to its popularity, a second edition was announced. From June 26th to July 1st, the Volume 2 of the event will take place at Backhaus Projects.
This edition will feature a diverse lineup of talented individuals including textile designers, object makers, painters, 3D artists, and tattoo artists. Among the participants are Ambra Fiorenza, Edo Goods, Iska Oris, Stella Graber, Rebirth Studios, Paal World, Made by Celeste, Ariel Noltimier Strauss, Phyllis Luu, Marta Ibanez, Eliza Bean, Helkagram, Isa Collection, MIGLĖ, Hannes Berwing, Tabitha Swanson, Yung Nonna, and Accezzo.
A significant aspect of this week-long event will involve community evening programming, which will be donation-based. Attendees can look forward to engaging activities such as live screen printing, small workshops, and a closing party curated by Christa Belle of Bubble World, providing a fitting conclusion to the event.
