An unusual Passion Painting as today I want to present the initiative Palette Palette! Founded in 2020 by Vincent–Michaël Vallet, Palette is a publishing company specialized in fabrics and contemporary art. It’s a clothing brand promoting artists in an original way, in unusual places, while still exhibiting the various collections according to curatorial practices.
The art is made to be worn, the exhibitions are done by people who wear clothes, coming as an individual or a collective. The printing on basic and unisex models enables anyone to own and wear a piece of art. Every model is a limited edition.
For the exhibition « Achille et la Tortue », Palette has invited nine artists to propose a project linked to Zenon of Elea’s paradox. It goes like this: one day, the Hero Achilles is in a footrace with the tortoise. He allows the tortoise a head start of 100 meters ( not unlike the fable of « the tortoise and the hare »). In the logic of Zeno, Achilles never succeeds in catching up with the tortoise. Contradicted by modern mathematics, the paradox is still a powerful source of mindfulness and a way of understanding that things may not always be as they seem.
Nine artworks made by the artists appropriate this millennia-old story. Like Achilles, catching up to the tortoise, Palette wishes to reduce the gap between art and life with this new collection.
