Under the creative vision of renowned designer Daria Plaksyuk, 15 awe-inspiring looks were showcased, leaving the audience at the Kronprinzenpalais in complete awe.

Drawing inspiration from the captivating local architecture, Daria Plaksyuk masterfully crafted the KHYZHA collection, which effortlessly captivated the hearts of the over 200 guests in attendance. PODYH, founded in 2020 by architect Daria Plaksyuk, has become synonymous with exceptional women’s collections that embody the spirit of various architectural styles. The designer finds endless inspiration in her homeland of Ukraine, where the cultural richness and immense talent of its people serve as constant muses.

“As a Ukrainian designer, I carry a deep sense of pride in representing my country’s heritage through the art of fashion,” states Daria Plaksyuk, brimming with gratitude for the opportunity to present the remarkable KHYZHA collection at Berlin Fashion Week. “To showcase the beauty and talent of Ukrainian designers on such a prestigious platform is an extraordinary experience for me and my team,” she adds.

The SS24 collection, aptly named KHYZHA, delves deeper into the realm of Ukrainian architecture and its intrinsic construction traditions. With a fascinating reinterpretation of the architectural heritage and daily life of the Ukrainian Carpathians’ inhabitants, PODYH expertly weaves together centuries-old traditions with contemporary aesthetics. The collection draws inspiration from the traditional houses of the Lemko people, an ethnic group residing in the Carpathian region, aptly referred to as “KHYZHA,” meaning “dwelling” in Ukrainian.

KHYZHA encompasses the essence of various traditional structures such as wooden churches, bell towers, windmills, and houses, skillfully interlacing the architectural and construction techniques employed by the region’s master craftsmen. The collection harmoniously integrates decorative motifs and ornamental elements found in the rich tapestry of Carpathian architecture and folk embroidery.
