Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space is pleased to inform you about the new opportunities for artists, publishers and theoreticians to participate at the upcoming PQ 2015! Apply and find your way to Prague to take part in the the 13th Prague Quadrennial 2015, the only event of performance design and space in the world!
PQ Show and Tell is a professional gathering where creative people get together and share their ideas, projects and thoughts. Participants will have a chance to present their projects within the six minute presentation format. Scenography, costume, sound, lighting, installation, performance architecture and other projects related to performance design are invited to be presented here. Sound Kitchen is a project suited for composers, sound designers, and sound artists to exchange and discuss experiences from the sound profession. Developed in cooperation with OISTAT Sound Design Working Group, Sound Kitchen encourages artists to submit proposals for 15 -20 minute compositions, sound art, sound installations or sound design pieces to be played/performed live. The project is curated by Dr. Karen Lauke (DE), professional composer and sound artist.

Performance Design Criticism Seminar is part of the PQ’s educational project SpaceLab and it is open to applicants under 30 years of age, regardless of citizenship, nationality or professional status. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss topics related to contemporary scenography and its criticism and work on their critical writing skills under the supervision of leading scholars in the field and PQ long-term collaborator, Professor Arnold Aronson. The writing section will be supervised by critic and lecturer Diana Damian Martin (UK) and young Czech scholars will serve as assistants to foster the discussion.

The application deadline for all the projects listed above is January 15, 2015!
Best Scenography Publication Award Supporting the rising trend of scenography publications, PQ is giving out an award for the best scenography publication and is open for nominations! Proposals for the award can include publications focusing on all performance design disciplines and genres: costume, sound, lighting, set, stage, installation art, mask, puppet, as well as architecture. Only published works released since 2010 will be considered.
