Press Play: Kida Kudz – Back Up

Olukayode Odesanya, aka Kida Kudz, is a Nigerian-born, UK-based artist primarily operating within the afrobeats scene and its adjacent worlds, while simultaneously birthing his own personal genre titled ‘Afro Jiggy’.

Kida has a keen following in Europe and Africa and has previously collaborated with artists such as Burna Boy, Chop, Pa Salieu and Ms Banks.

‘Back Up’ is Kida’s first single off a new chapter in his artistic career, putting himself firmly in the spotlight. A remix version of the track featuring Backroad Gee will be dropping in January and there are further high-profile collaborations planned for early 2023.


He has secured long-form press features with The Face, NME, CULTED and has been covered in general by Pitchfork, The Guardian, The Times, Hunger, Notion, The Independent, The Observer, GRM Daily, DAZED, CRACK and NME.

In December he will be touring Nigeria and Ghana extensively with a notable slot at Afro Nation scheduled.
