Press Play: Stan Davichone – Feeding Off

Stan Davichone is a music producer born and raised in post-communist Bulgaria. He started out by playing punk-rock guitar, but later developed a passion for electronic music. He employs a collection of analogue synths and obscure drum machines to achieve his own sound, which could be broken down into key elements: bleepy melody lines, glitchy sound effects, grain-textured clouds, ethereal atmospheres, tough basslines and evolving arpeggios. Inspired by science fiction and neurocybernetics, the end result often feels like a psychedelic trip through an intergalactic highway with bleached-out flashbacks from the past.

Feeding Off feels like an intense journey, rather than a vulnerable affair. Happy tunes with sad undertones, a true cathartic outlet. This EP has 3 tracks, glued together by some common elements, so you can get lost in them. Play on repeat through the whole night, and grind your teeth while imagining biblical angels. Feel tectonic movements with every bass hit. It’s techno music with a dark twist. The melodies provide a melancholic vibe, while the drums induce a hypnotic state.
