Embracing the challenge to address the intricate systems that continue to favour men and propagate gender-based oppression, Jale Richert and Michele Beil presented ‘Vater, Unser’ – a powerful statement conveyed through their remarkable runway show. This captivating display laid a strong emphasis on inclusivity, diversity, and sustainability while featuring a cast of models who represented a diverse range of genders, body types, and ethnicities.

The collection showcased by RICHERT BEIL showcased their immense talent and bold vision, as they fearlessly deconstructed traditional menswear wardrobes through conceptual designs. By subverting familiar silhouettes and styles with unconventional materials and design techniques, they transformed the notion of male dressing and redefined what masculinity and femininity mean in today’s world.

Sustainability has always been at the core of RICHERT BEIL, and this collection was no exception. Incorporating organic or BCI-certified fabrics, recycled textiles, and materials, and even utilizing dead stock fabrics, the brand showcased their dedication to preserving the environment. Notably, they sourced options from trusted mills with a minimum of 50% sustainability certification.

Setting the stage for an exceptional experience, RICHERT BEIL incorporated antique hand-embroidered textiles, symbolizing both the historical representation of the ‘perfect housewife’ and the various social and legal oppressions faced by women throughout history and even in the present day.

With their powerful, kinetic, and disruptive runway show, RICHERT BEIL left an indelible mark on Berlin Fashion Week, captivating audiences and pushing the boundaries of fashion as we know it. Their directional and inclusive avant-garde collection proved that fashion can be a transformative force, breaking free from societal norms and embracing a future where gender roles and aesthetics are reimagined.
