Sagaboi Spring/Summer 2027

Presented during Milan Fashion Week at Fondazione Sozzani, Sagaboi’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection, titled JAMMIN: The Caribbean Art of Defying Pressure, serves as a detailed exploration of subcultural resilience. The collection examines how Caribbean communities historically transform external pressures into creative evolution, utilising fashion, textile craft, and sonic culture as tools of defiance and invention.

The visual narrative relies heavily on a complex dialogue between distinct print concepts and tactile fabrication. The garments incorporate new graphic iterations, including Caribbean Baroque, Sugarcane Field, Girmitiya, and JAMMIN Ikat motifs. A strong emphasis is placed on physical craftsmanship, highlighted by handmade crochet pieces produced by female artisans in Trinidad & Tobago.

The collection anchors itself in relaxed tailoring contrasted against utilitarian, migration-inspired oversized holdall bags and structural coral-inspired jewellery. Sagaboi weaves together various material traditions, creating a textured interplay between classic Madras, intricate Indian Chikankari embroidery, tie-dye, crochet, and sequin detailing to reflect the layered heritage of the region.
