
Virtuoso concert pianist and pop artist Saint Micah (formerly Micah McLaurin) has officially released his latest single, “Papillon,” out now via Casa Doce Music. Produced by Young Jake, the track serves as the second instalment in the artist’s new creative chapter, capturing the exhilarating rush of unexpected romance through infectious, high-energy dance-pop production.
Centred on the physical sensation of infatuation, the track’s title takes direct inspiration from the French word for butterfly. Saint Micah draws on his classical training to enrich the pop structure, adding an intricate, French-inspired piano bridge that grounds the electronic instrumentation in delicate musicianship.
“‘Papillon’ is inspired by the feeling of getting butterflies in your stomach when you like someone new,” says Saint Micah. “I love the beautiful French-inspired piano bridge. It gives me butterflies.”
The release follows his high-intensity track “The Grind,” which examined the friction between personal authenticity and societal expectations. That single recently received a remix by Grammy-winning producer Dave Audé, climbing to #13 on Music Week’s Commercial Pop Club Chart, alongside a striking visual directed by fashion photographers Domen and Van De Velde.
Trained at the Curtis Institute of Music and Juilliard, Saint Micah initially established himself as a solo concert pianist performing with premier international orchestras. After relocating to New York and immersing himself in queer nightlife and culture, he began bridging his technical foundation with contemporary pop, collaborating with prominent figures across music and fashion, including Nicola Formichetti, Zaldy, and producer duo PhD. With “Papillon,” Saint Micah continues his trajectory of crafting polished, liberating pop anthems rooted in queer identity, self-determination, and classical virtuosity.
