Sia Arnika Fall/Winter 2023

Berlin Fashion Week! With her fashion, Sia Arnika explores the familiar, unites past and future, lets opposites collide and thus creates her unique aesthetic. She has now chosen her runway location to match. It is the first collection the Danish-born designer has presented in show format and an extension of the SIA ARNIKA centrepiece.

For Fall/Winter 2023, she presented looks during Berlin Fashion Week and as part of Berlin Contemporary in the Ember Archive, framed by train tracks and a gas station. Not a classically beautiful building, yet for the designer it embodies the heavy melancholy of Berlin’s past, which she puts into a pop cultural context with her fashion, merging it with the future. Fittingly for her collection, Sia Arnika describes the woman she designs for as one who comes from the past but lives in the future.

Fascinated by unusual textiles and silhouettes, the designer has always found “beauty in the whimsical and the strange.” This season, she found inspiration in Nordic myths and ancient folktales, which meet hardcore futurism for Fall/Winter 2023. Exploring opposing forces, she explores the dynamics of minimalism and maximalism. She lets deconstructed elements meet bold, unique shapes and harmonizes opposites. Alongside dresses, tops and lots of knits, partly hybrid structures and a range of different textures contrast with smooth silhouettes. In addition, bright colours are combined with austere shawl black.

With exceptional craftsmanship and strong aesthetics, SIA ARNIKA stands for slow fashion and responsible fashion, with which she also tells a new story of sustainability: She skillfully juxtaposes current, cultural developments with traditional ones. For example, while draperies have a renaissance approach, the textile itself is made of the very future-oriented material Circulose®.
