The evening will kick off with a captivating screening of a series of short films by renowned artists Brian & Karl, Buttermilk Films, Christeene, GMHC, Julie Chance, Jenni Olson, Konstantin Bock, Peaches, PJ Raval, Susan Muska, as well as Brontez Purnell and Matt Lambert himself. These films push boundaries and challenge norms, offering a unique perspective on queer experiences.

Following the screening, Brontez Purnell and special guests will take the stage for a live reading and performance. Drawing upon both his older works and new, unreleased material, Brontez will captivate the audience with his raw talent. This immersive experience will be expertly staged by the visionary Matt Lambert.

Once the show concludes, attendees will have the opportunity to mingle, enjoy music, and indulge in refreshing drinks. It’s the perfect way to continue the night and reflect on the thought-provoking art that has just unfolded.

Brontez Purnell is the author of several books, including 100 Boyfriends, which won the 2022 Lambda Literary Award in Gay Fiction, was long-listed for the 2022 Mark Twain American Voice in Literature Award and the 2021 Brooklyn Public Library Literary Prize, and was named an Editors’ Choice by The New York Times Book Review. The recipient of a 2018 Whiting Award for Fiction and the 2022 Foundation for Contemporary Arts Robert Rauschenberg Award, he was named one of the thirty-two Black Male Writers of Our Time by T: The New York Times Style Magazine in 2018. Purnell is also the frontman for the band the Younger Lovers and a renowned performance artist and zine-maker. Born in Triana, Alabama, he has lived in Oakland, California, for two decades.

Matt Lambert is an American filmmaker and visual artist based in Berlin for 12 years, whose intimate work spans film, TV, experimental documentary, fashion, music video, live performance and adult film. He has also been curating experimental queer cinema nights globally for over a decade. His project VITIUM creates and produces queer film and print projects as well as live performances and events that blur the line between art and porn.
