Almost like an extension of themselves, the sketch book is an indispensable part to every artist. Bursting with ideas, thoughts and doodles, it’s where the magic begins. Claudia La Perna A.K.A Cielleppi was born in a small town in Sicily, Italy, where she spends most of her childhood and started doodling at a very early age, raised on authentic Italian hand gestures rap and Sonic Youth.
“The main connection between my subjects is myself, as I believe we are our own biggest case of study. My illustrations focus on the anguishes and concerns of young women, personalised by characters that I recognize today as kind of self-portraits.”
