Speedo x Folk: Celebrating the Joy of Wild Swimming

Global swimwear brand Speedo has teamed up with independent British fashion label Folk to unveil a limited capsule collection that embodies the essence of wild swimming. Combining Folk’s unique design aesthetic with Speedo’s expertise in performance swimwear, the collection offers the perfect blend of style, comfort, and functionality.

The campaign brought together these two iconic brands in the picturesque town of Bude, North Cornwall, capturing the uplifting and ethereal spirit of the collaboration. Surrounded by the rugged coastline and ever-changing weather, former surf champion Sophie Hellyer, along with a group of true wild swimmers, showcased the connection between Speedo and Folk. Each image reflected the exhilaration of being in the water and the cozy comfort of warming up afterwards.

Cathal McAteer, the creative force behind Folk Clothing, shared his thoughts on the collaboration: “Losing yourself in nature has always appealed to me – the thrill of exploring mountains, dancing in a field, or immersing oneself in the sea. At Folk, we have long admired the passion for cold water swimming and the communities that embrace it. We wanted to create swim and warm-up gear that exudes a sense of ease and comfort. By partnering with swimming icon Speedo, known for its high-performance swimwear, we were able to combine style with functionality. We’ve tackled the cold outer elements to help deliver inner peace.”

Kirsty Saddler, Speedo’s VP of Brand, expressed her excitement about the collaboration: “Working with Folk to create a cold water swim collection was truly thrilling, especially when we consider the growing interest in outdoor swimming. Folk’s design philosophy and focus on quality strongly aligns with our brand and our wild swim audience. The collection seamlessly blends style, vibrancy, and function. We are delighted to launch this joyful collaboration.”

The collection comprises 30 meticulously crafted pieces.. and will be available to buy on Monday 11th September on www.speedo.com and www.folkclothing.com.
