Central to this work is the gesture of the hands. Before language and spoken word, we found our final images through hands and body movement. It provoked excitement and a bond between everyone on set. The result is a powerful body of work: a fusion of identities, instincts, and artistic voices. A reminder that when we trust the void and each other, something greater can emerge.
This shoot stands as a testament to that shared understanding: five individuals, each attuned to that quiet, instinctive place where creation begins. Perhaps that is the true pull of the creative industry, the unspoken recognition of one another’s inner language.
Gosia Blasiak, a Barcelona-based Polish photographer with a powerful & discerning eye, met London-Irish makeup artist James Mac, who subsequently encountered Cila, a Portuguese-Angolan model living in Barcelona, at a queer-focused music event last November.
This trilogy of our varying cultures yet similar creative instinct led to an opportunity to collaborate, which extended the moment to work with a visionary Venezuelan stylist, Nelson Giovanny, whose imagination and creative teamwork were paired with Scottish-Moroccan designer Rocco Berow on set.
Everyone within the first hour of shooting is sensitive to one another’s energy. We arrived with empty hands, no fixed expectations or prescribed outcome. Only a shared openness to create. What emerged was not the vision of a single individual, nor the imprint of one creative authority. Instead, it became a convergence: a mutual trust in each other’s ability to shape something meaningful. Each of us offered our energy freely, allowing the work to unfold organically, guided by instinct rather than control.
In an industry that can often feel closed, structured, and inaccessible, this collaboration became something unique. The Artistry shared within this shoot has formed a new connection, community and a fresh form of creative kinship.

Gosia
Born in Poland and shaped by a life lived across borders, Gosia has spent the last thirteen years between cultures, first in France and now in Barcelona. It was through this movement that she discovered her own voice—finding confidence, embracing therapy, and beginning her journey in fashion photography.
With foundations in film directing and early training in acting, she approaches image-making as an exercise in emotional storytelling. Deeply intuitive and attuned to the nuances of human connection, Gosia creates from a place of feeling rather than formula. Each photograph emerges from the atmosphere shared between subject and creator, capturing not only a presence but an emotional imprint. Her work is defined by sensitivity, intimacy, and an instinctive ability to translate the unseen into image.
James Mac
Raised in rural Ireland, James Mac developed a creative language shaped by observation, introspection, and a fascination with what exists beneath the surface. His artistic practice is guided by a desire to reveal forms of beauty that are often overlooked—subtle narratives and quiet details that reward a deeper gaze.
Through his work, James explores vulnerability as both subject and strength, drawing from his lived experience with Tourette’s syndrome to inform his perspective. Art has become a means of interpreting the world around him, transforming personal experience into visual expression. The result is a body of work that feels both deeply individual and universally resonant, inviting viewers into a more nuanced conversation around beauty, perception, and human connection.

I am Venezuelan, and in Barcelona I found a new home. I believe beauty exists in the mind, in interpretation—not in the obvious.
I’m drawn to the sensual, the subtle, to what suggests more than it reveals. I admire beauty in all its forms, and working with it has brought me closer to what is human. For me, styling is a way of translating the invisible into image.
