A story about London’s insiders, outsiders, newcomers, creatives, individuals. A story about diversity. A story about past and change. A story about London. A KALTBLUT exclusive.
“This project’s aim was to celebrate London’s diversity. You hear a lot about the people in London who already made it or are on the verge of a break through. However you hardly hear about the people among us, the people living everyday lives just like us. This project is supposed to celebrate the undiscovered beauty of London, showcasing it’s everyday diversity, all based around the entertainment business. Whether it is events or film, music or fashion, there are a lot of unheard voices out there that want to be heard or seen. Each individual was picked due to a specific quality, that may very well be considered as a minority in their respective field. They were asked to bring a piece of jewellery that is dear to their heart as well as choose an item from the styling rail, which they identify most with. Followed by a questionnaire for them to fill out, the team created the colour scheme and way of representation based on their survey. This speed up the process of actually getting to know the subject in more depth. During their performance of shooting, each individual could also pick the music that would support their session. Having a broad song variety from Rihanna’s Work, classical music, Panic at the Disco, up to Ru Paul’s Sissy that Walk. The aim of the shoot was to raise these individuals to some sort of icon. Using bold colours to really draw the attention to them as well as to get rid of hair colour, skin colour and other differences. Essentially the project is aimed to take in all their diverse aspects and features, put them aside and show them in as an individual iconic personality.”
