Thunder Jackson’s LSD Recipe Gets

If one were to say “Thunder Jackson is a pure attitude” would that translate correctly? It’s not that he’s bluffing or faking it, Jackson has the skill, talent, and dedication that any self-respecting musician would dream of, but it’s all so much in service of his spirited swagger that one can’t help but feel like they’re just *hearing* purely distilled rock & roll attitude.

In case you’ve been tragically missing what Thunder Jackson‘s been offering for a while, let us introduce you to the man himself and the what-about of his art:

Hailing from Oklahoma and born as Kyle Bradley, Thunder Jackson is a rising star who seemed to emerge back in 2017 wielding a flexible amalgam of Rock and Electro-pop sounds. Bradley’s father was a part-time Elvis Impersonator, which no doubt instilled in the young man’s life a healthy dose of respect for Rock & Roll and all of the pageantry and theatrics of putting on a good, entertaining show, later, in his late teens he decided to make the move to Los Angeles, where an incredibly fortuitous shared cab ride led him to meet Welsh producer and Songwriter Pete Lawrie Winifield. After hearing Bradley sing, Winfield invited him to his basement studio, and before long, the pair had become both roommates and musical partners.

He was a new artist on a new label jumping into the musical fray seconds before COVID shut the world down indefinitely. In any other case, it would be “game over.” But for Thunder Jackson, it was a challenge for which he – and his exceptional music – remarkably rose to the occasion. The result is undeniable. Jackson is currently at over 250k monthly global streaming listeners, with 5 tracks from his debut earning a cumulative 25M global streams to date.

Love Sick Doctor’s acronym is, of course, easy to guess and easier to derive meaning from, the bonds between psychedelics and music are old and deep, and at times also fruitful, and there’s no need to decipher deeper what the words mean or what the lyrics are on about because ultimately, the point is to experience the thing in itself and everything it unlocks within you, something that Thunder’s fresh and wild attitude facilitates.

From the moment that the music video starts, you’re greeted with the shaggy-haired, leopard-print beshirted rockstar lighting up the smoke before enthralling you with his trippy ballad. It’s all about that intimate space, a live session in a dimly-lit recording studio where there’s almost nothing but Jackson, the Band, and their equipment – almost an invitation to fill in the blanks with fractalized visuals out of your own mind’s eye as they take on this timeless formula promoting an intimate connection with sound and sound-maker(s).
