Track Premiere: Chain Wallet – ‘Muted Colours’

Bergen-based, lo-fi dream/psych pop trio Chain Wallet are hazily showering us today with their latest single, ‘Muted Colours’. Stian Iversen, Christian Line and Frode Boris haven’t been on the scene for too long, but in the past year they’ve already played shows all across Europe, building a loyal fan base in their home country of Norway, and attracting a huge interest amongst the online community with only a few singles. Even though feelings of nostalgia and melancholy lurk in the Scandinavian shadows, it’s not difficult to find indie-pop gold in its purest form, glittering below the heavy layers of synth and reverb. ‘Muted Colours’ comes from Chain Wallet’s first full-length album, to be released this autumn on Plateproduksjon.

Frode Boris from the band explains the bands ethos and sound – “We want to capture the acute distress of an afflicted character; his self-indulgent pity, gradual loss of touch with reality and his forlorn attempts on returning to normal life. The abrupt disintegration unveils interesting tensions between urgency and inertia. The album is about fragmented memories, unfulfilled ambitions and the quiet whisper of a stranger.”

Chain Wallet’s debut self-titled album ‘Chain Wallet’ is due out October 7th through Jansen Plateproduksjon
