Track Premiere: The New Coast – ‘Caught’

‘Caught’ is the new single by Nick Blyth and Chris Cheater, who together make up the dreamy indie-pop duo The New Coast. The track, carried by a groovy syncopated rhythm and passionate wailing vocals that emerge in the huge release of its choruses, recalls the moments when one helpless during nights out when they seem to be whisked from one place to another almost in a dreamlike state. ‘Caught’ is out today via LAB Records.

On the song’s making, Blyth comments, “‘Caught’, lyrically dives into memories I have of Madrid, last spring. It was the first time I felt like I was sleepwalking around a city, with someone that felt otherworldly and intriguing. It encapsulates the loss of identity you convey whilst trying to work someone else out. We find solace in writing about these moments as we can pinpoint the mood and push our sound further & further.” The duo captures the track’s lyrical content in its shining production of washing synth pulses and vastly layered vocals which bathe over the listener.

2017 has been an incredibly exciting year for the two members and they will look to cap it off with their first soldout headline slot, taking place at Thousand Island in London on 30th November, with other live dates in Manchester, Hull, and Brighton.
