Looking to start 2023 on a high note, upcoming singer-songwriter PRVNA (Pra-vee-na) kicks off with another warm afro-house groover ‘Only U’. Known for punchy melodies, South-London based PRVNA is quickly becoming one to watch as she intricately blends sultry hooks with funky basslines in her sound. Drawing on influences from Black Coffee all the way through to Disclosure, PRVNA’s distinctive genre-bending production makes nods to alternative RnB, funky house and Afro-Latin genres, encapsulating the UK sound of today.

PRVNA straddles across various genres and cultures to draw parallels with tropical island, feel good dance music. This, coupled with the South London landscapes of her childhood, have influenced the storytelling behind her production to make for a string of addictive singles such as “Get Down” and “Believe”, with heavyweight remixes from Girls of the Internet and Bruise.
Teaming up with 7 Wallace’s N:Fostell she taps into the producer’s alter ego DJ Naughty, (a big player on the UK’s funky house scene) to bring soulful afro-fusion, showcasing a unique rhythm and vibrant melody.
Her releases on forward thinking NeedWant and iconic Nervous have gained spins from Danny Howard, Jeremiah Asiamah, Jess Iszatt and Jyoty alike.
Packing ‘Only U’ with strong grooves, and demanding vocals, PRVNA once again delivers a relatable and perfectly produced single. This time released independently, she takes charge of her narrative adding another addictive single to her collection.
‘Only U’ marks PRVNA’s first single of 2023, to be followed by her debut afro-fusion EP ‘Move my Hips’ later this summer.
