Track Premiere: Sloucho – Super Maramu 2000

Sloucho’s new track ‘Super Maramu 2000’ is set for an early showcase from his highly-anticipated album ‘NPC’, launching on May 3rd under the Sweet Sun banner. This third release from the future-focused Sweet Sun label delves into themes of self and the concept of being a secondary, unnoticed character in life’s vast game. After a period of deep isolation, Sloucho found himself imagining strangers as non-playable characters, a revelation that shaped the album’s narrative foundation.

‘Super Maramu 2000’ is a cut of alien-club beamed directly from ‘Eile’, the afterlife of Sloucho’s Neolithic ancestors. A waltzer-ride through Latin-bass and techno with an oxymoronic blend of maximalist and minimalist futurism, it’s as silly as it is serious, before the stuttering, juke-influence of ‘Make It Work’ brings the album’s rapid first half (and a bit) to a close.

Infused with influential Irish artistry, including Rory Sweeney and EMBY, Sloucho blends cutting-edge Cloudcore beats, deep bass lines, and surreal soundscapes to form the most authentic representation of his musical journey thus far, hinting at his origins.

Catch Sloucho performing live for his debut Boiler Room at this year’s AVA Festival.
