“I started working on this track with the desire to experiment with lighter, more easily digestible pop sounds that could counterbalance a subject that maybe wouldn’t be as palatable.
I wrote the lyrics and navigated through the storyline in a way that could easily be glazed over as another song about a not so healthy regular relationship at first glance but in reality it was my way of expressing the somewhat toxic love hate relationship I have with the darker thoughts that go on in my head. “
Being that this is a continuation of the storyline that started with the first two singles, I wanted to have fun with different feels and sounds before fully diving into the concepts and moods that’ll be presented in future projects.
Trenton’s sound in this track is nothing short of lush and luxurious. You really do feel like you’re being treated to premium synth work of the highest order, sophisticated and elegant with a slight retro (meaning cool) slant to it all. The groovy beat and airy vocals bring some definite light into the gloom of the themes, and the fascinating animated music video does a perfect job of reflecting all of that through an additional layer of love, care and artistry.
