Berlin Fashion Week! SCHAU 15. Hot or Not? As we always say, fashion is all about the future. No surprise that sometimes it’s much more fascinating to keep up with what newcomers have to offer. On July 10th Universität der Künste Berlin held the event of the year in Berlin Wedding. SCHAU 15 ironically took place at Erika Heiss Eisstadion, that reminded us of a competition. And it really was. The runway was a hot point for young designers to show off, and not to fail.
This time we picked our favorite pieces and hope you share our excitement with us. And watch out, this time our editor-in-love walked for one designer. So be sure it’s gonna be hot. Our Top 5 designers are Sarah Effenberger, Sean Neubauer, Muyao Zhang, Bettina Mileta, Kai Gerhardt.
Sarah Effenberger
The show was opened by, the most promising designer among youngsters. Well, that’s just an opinion, but seriously, just look at her collection. «Fomme» is all about ambivalence as it’s easy to guess. Very edgy topic lately was perfectly reworked and presented in a very special way. Guys in skirts and innocently tender blouses and jackets. What can be hotter? Go for it Sarah! We can’t wait for your next shows.
Sean Neubauer
For us it seems kind of difficult to make fashion for men. They sometimes are even more picky then women. So you better be the best or don’t play with the subject. Sean Neubauer definitely rocked it. Strict shapes and perfect cuts – is all what a man can desire. The collection was filled with exploration and adventure themes. Really wearable and very masculine. «What else is new?» – some could say. But really? If you do it best, everybody shut up.
Muyao Zhang
Revolutionary? For sure! The models worked in Pairs showed avant-garde but at the same time totally we-can-imagine-it-on-the-street pieces. We always really love when girls do men’s design. They have their precious view on guy’s souls and hearts. So Muyao was the best to broadcast it through clothing.
Bettina Mileta
Sharp and colorful is all about Bettina. Strong women rule the world for last 5 years. I mean feminism is developing and that’s a great thing. So Bettina got the flow and made the collection for those who are on point. But if you say that there is no femininity in feminism. Well, look at those floating lines and delicate shades of beige, blue and yellow. The woman by Bettina Mileta is the woman to be.
Kai Gerhardt
Hot or not? Well, this time it is not even a question! Def hot! Dark hearts and rebel souls. That will work for ever! Kai picked the most sexy models in town for his most goth and masculine clothing. It is no surprise our boss did the runway for the show! So please welcome the heroes of the night.
Fashion is definitely the competition. SCHAU 15 proven this not only by setting, but with its energy as well. Somebody is always better then the other, but in this race do not forget to keep your face. The desire to win is big, but staying true is bigger. Isn’t it?
