Umbro x Nigel Cabourn

#Campaign – At the start of the AW21 season, the British sportswear brand Umbro has teamed up with the British cult designer Nigel Cabourn. The joint unisex collection celebrates vintage-inspired soccer and rugby jerseys and gives a selection of iconic silhouettes a contemporary casual wear twist.

The Umbro x Nigel Cabourn collection consists of ten styles that take up the football and rugby styles of the late 1940s to early 1950s and reinterpret them for modern, design-oriented consumers. The collaboration not only recognizes Umbro’s commitment to the world of football, but also celebrates the brand’s latest move into rugby as the official supplier of England rugby.

The collection includes Umbro’s iconic drill training top in RAF Navy and matching training pants. Both have an embroidered double diamond logo and pocket details. The pigment-dyed training sweater, available in RAF Navy or Dirty White, has a two-tone Umbro x Nigel Cabourn print in a used look on the back. The hero silhouettes include the regiment rugby top in gold or sky blue with horizontal and vertical stripes and oversized “N” or “C” patches on the back.

The vintage-inspired Umbro x Nigel Cabourn trainer, whose shape is an allusion to the massive trend towards vintage sneakers with a lower profile, is available with a suede upper in RAF Navy and a contrasting Dirty White sole. The collection is rounded off by ribbed beanies in RAF Navy and Sky Blue and the leather WW2 rugby ball with an Umbro x Nigel Cabourn logo embossed in gold foil.

The Umbro x Nigel Cabourn collection is now available at UMBRO.CO.UK and CABOURN.COM, and in Germany at CULTIZM (Münster). Prices range between € 44 and € 150.
