Valentim Quaresma Fall/Winter 25-26

Punk makes a triumphant return at Valentim Quaresma’s latest collection shown at ModaLisboa Capital, showcasing an evolution that is nothing short of remarkable. The Portuguese designer taps into the rebellious spirit of the 1970s and 1980s, paying homage to the punk aesthetic he deeply cherishes.

“I wanted to bring punk to this collection because I think our society needs a new generation of punk in light of current social and political climates,” Quaresma shared in a revealing interview with SAPO Lifestyle. This urgency for change resonates strongly in the 21st century, making his vision all the more relevant. The show’s opening featured Ariel, a transgender model whose presence left an indelible mark, highlighting a commitment to inclusivity and empowerment. “I think she is an amazing woman,” Quaresma stated, underscoring the importance of representation.

In the autumn/winter 2025/26 collection, we witness a powerful resurgence of protest against the status quo—an ethos entrenched in both music and fashion. The pieces are characterized by an unapologetic rebelliousness, dominated by black hues and accompanied by the legendary tartan, reimagined here in a striking yellow. This vibrant print graces skirts, tops, dresses, and jackets, beautifully paired with a variety of footwear, including rugged biker and military boots.

Known for his innovative approach to sustainability, Valentim Quaresma proudly incorporates upcycled techniques into his creations. This collection predominantly features deadstock materials and textile surpluses, all meticulously transformed into artful fashion statements. It’s an amazing journey of growth for the brand, reflecting not just a style, but a movement—a bold invitation to embrace change while paying homage to punk’s enduring legacy.
