As a dedicated fan of the extraordinary band ÄTNA, I am thrilled to share that their latest video premiere is finally here. Today, the innovative Dresden duo return with their synth-driven new single “Number One,” further showcasing the creative vigour and excitement leading up to their upcoming album this autumn. Known for their multi-faceted music and visually striking videos, ÄTNA’s newest track teases an album that ambitiously tackles themes of climate change, deforestation, and global warming.
ÄTNA Unveil Synth-Driven, Powerful & Foreboding New Single “Number One”
“Number One” glides on a lush synthesis of sounds, ebbing and flowing with boundary-less creativity. The track is described by Inéz and Demian as a meditation on the natural cycle of life – a contemplation of the perennial loops of opposites: death and birth, ebb and flow, yin and yang. By zooming out, we can better recognize these cycles and find comfort in the inevitability of change. “First comes the rain, then comes the sun… tear up your drapes, you’ll see good things will come,” says ÄTNA, encapsulating the essence of their new single.
Often mistaken as part of Berlin’s underground music scene, Inéz and Demian remain deeply rooted in Dresden, the city where their musical journey began. This geographical separation from Germany’s major music hubs has helped them preserve their unique identity. With albums like “Made By Desire” and “Push Life,” ÄTNA has carved out a niche in avant-garde sophistication, distancing themselves from conventional German pop.
