Video Premiere: Brynjolfur – ‘Paisaje Sintetico’

Danish label Prom Night Records signals a blissful return to summer dancefloors with Faroese-born, Copenhagen-based Brynjolfur, sharing shimmery new single ‘Paisaje Sintetico’ – the first track from his forthcoming EP Sintetico. Featuring two originals and two remixes from Prins Thomas and Chinaski that draw on South European sounds from the late 80s and early 90s – from Italo to dream house to the beginnings of progressive and trance – the sunkissed four-tracker is due for release on 12th May.

In the 80s, my father, who sadly passed away recently, used to travel to Ibiza frequently, and I found myself thinking
about it a lot after his passing. This unintentionally inspired me to write music that romanticizes that golden era of the island, specifically during the late 80s and early 90s. Final Grrl’s beautiful Spanish vocals added another layer of
grace to this narrative… As I started writing the track, images flooded my mind, and since my video-production skills and resources are limited, it was the obvious choice to capture these visuals by incorporating vintage footage from that time and place.

Growing up in the mid-90s Brynjolfur fell in love with electronic music at a very early age by watching for hours on end of late-night MTV. His eclectic taste of music made him a go-to resident at Copenhagen’s finest house & techno. His longtime love for electronic music has made him a highly regarded artist of the scene.

With his singles featured in Mixmag, Dj Mag, XLR8R Magazine and Clash Magazine calling him “a leading light”. With releases on labels such as Eskimo Recordings, Nein Records, HFN and Natura Sonoris in his bag, he has played in different corners of the world. Not only as a DJ but also with his three-piece live set, playing at events such as Roskilde Festival, Sónar, HÖR Berlin and more.
