This is about us, the striking third chapter of her conceptual album Mental Diary. Released today alongside a gripping music video directed by Atómico!, “No Faith, No Fear” immerses listeners in a dystopian landscape, capturing the remnants of a once-vibrant world. Both this track and “Todo x Ti” delve into themes of loss and the complexities of existence, now enriched by the context of the digital age.
Cora Novoa Unveils ‘ACT III: This is not about you and me. This is about us’
With ACT III, Novoa navigates the intricacies of artificial intelligence, sustainability, and the quest for a sense of community in an ever-fractured social tapestry. Dropped under her label SEEKING THE VELVET, this nine-track album echoes a dark, mysterious atmosphere, woven together by modular synthesizers and analog recordings, embodying the uncertainty of contemporary life. Unlike previous acts, this album presents a complete narrative experience, showcasing a coherent story arc complemented by distinctive visual elements.
“In this last act, I focused on community and belonging, exploring its significance and our search for answers amidst a dystopian reality,” reflects Novoa. “The symbolism surrounding secret societies fascinates me, particularly in terms of knowledge transfer and the traditions we uphold. We face uncertain futures shaped by climate change, and the present legacy we build is crucial for the generations to come.”
ACT III: This is not about you and me. This is About Us drops on December 5th across all platforms, featuring three advance singles, two music videos, six unreleased tracks, and a limited edition cassette alongside an exclusive print. A capsule clothing collection by SEEKING THE VELVET will also accompany the album, inviting listeners into a meticulously crafted audiovisual world.
Concluding her Mental Diary trilogy—a narrative steeped in Aristotelian structure—Cora Novoa finalizes her introspective journey, examining her evolution since 2018 through this 360º project that transcends music. She leads the artistic direction, imbuing the release with her unique storytelling and visual language, solidifying her reputation as a transformative figure within the electronic music scene.
With this venture, Cora Novoa will also debut a new AV LIVE performance, launching her tour in December 2024.
