Berlin-based German-Turkish artist Güner Künier returns today with her new single “Cash Cash Exercise,” accompanied by an electrifying video. She also announces her upcoming album “Yaramaz,” set to drop on March 21 through Flirt 99. “Cash Cash Exercise” is a wild rollercoaster ride that navigates the young musician’s daily struggles with money issues, identity questions, and frustration over the current societal landscape. With its punchy beat, minimalist synth sounds, and a rebellious voice echoing the best of Riot Grrrl tradition, this track stands as a bold declaration encouraging listeners to rise above adversity and forge their paths.

This track marks the first single from her forthcoming second album, “Yaramaz,” which will be released on March 21, 2025. On “Yaramaz,” Güner chronicles her coming-of-age journey, tackling societal and familial expectations with the raw energy of punk and post-punk influences. The album delves into the arduous process of self-empowerment, crafting an intimate yet defiant soundscape filled with noisy guitars, electroclash-inspired synthpunk beats, and shoegaze textures — all designed to inspire independence and authenticity.
Born in 1990 in Izmir, Turkey, Güner moved with her family to Flensburg at the age of three and grew up there. As a teenager, she played in local bands before pursuing a degree in industrial engineering first in Heide/Holstein and then relocating to Berlin in 2014. After completing her studies, she fully committed herself to the arts, working as an actress and musician. In the early 2020s, she began her solo music journey, debuting with the EP “Flexel” in 2021, followed by her first album “Aşk” in 2022. Güner has toured Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, and has performed in the Netherlands and England. In 2024, she graced stages at major events like the Eurosonic Festival in Groningen and the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg.
