Video Premiere: Iain Howie – ‘To Forget’

Vancouver-based producer Iain Howie makes his mark on tastemaker label Needwant with the 6-minute experience ‘To Forget’. Tailoring each live set to a time and place with the use of live instruments and field recordings, it’s not hard to see why Iain has already shared the stage with the likes of Bob Moses, Jacques Greene and Jay Tripwire. ‘To Forget’ intertwines layers of pads, drums, hazy chords and vocals, coupled with psychedelic sounds that draw you in and take you on an atmospheric filled journey. Completed by the woozy, lava swirls of Akiko Nakayama’s video, ‘To Forget’ is quite simply a stunning introduction into the young producer’s vision.

“The moving image I created captures the dynamic journey of fluid motion. Contrasting ͞To Forget, the paint flows back to its original state resembling a reminiscence or recollection of a memory. I thoroughly enjoyed creating these dancing colors to Iain’s vocals.” – Akiko Nakayama

Over the past ten years, the Needwant mantra has been to push the very best in new talent, having provided the platform for the likes of Kiwi, The Mekanism, Maxxi Soundsystem, The Revenge and many more.
