German producer, songwriter and enigmatic creative Moritz, returns with the first song from his uniquely stylized and innovative new EP. ‘Intro’, showcases a melancholic side to the talented producer’s songwriting arsenal, layering moody vocals over a sombre chord progression with minimal production and a lo-fi feel throughout. Accompanied by an aesthetically pleasing visual, it’s a taste of what’s to come from the talented artist, with a string of releases scheduled for the Spring and Summer months of 2023.
This song is an emotional introduction to my biggest project so far. The small idea I had in my bedroom two years ago has been shaped into a very unique thing, keeping the raw feelings I was going through, which makes it so important to me.
Growing up in Tarifa, Spain, Moritz fell in love with electronic music at a young age. Moritz moved to Berlin and immersed himself in the cloud rap and trap scene, producing hip-hop beats and singing in English, German, and Spanish. He gained recognition after collaborating with BHZ, a local underground rap group, and releasing successful singles. Moritz is known for his strong ear for melodies and hooks and his control over every aspect of his artistic vision, from production to videos to merchandise. His upcoming EP, “Other Eyes,” is set to be released in June.
Moritz’s unique style and production flair has led to critical acclaim in GSA (German speaking regions) as well as globally. He’s performing at leading upcoming festivals such as Splash Festival, Openair Frauenfeld and Backwood Festival and In November, Moritz will be performing a headline tour across Europe. His fanbase has grown worldwide from playlist placements on Spotify including Lorem and Hyperpop, Hip Hop Mixtape, NMF, me right now Dreamchasers, Today‘s Indie Rock, Indielandia and Indie Chillout.
