Video Premiere: PAAR – ‘SYN’

‘SYN’ is the latest instalment from German post-punk trio PAAR. Taken from the EP ‘HONE‘, out today on DAS DIKTAT, the single is a lush synth-infused delight from start to finish. Crafted by Sebastian Dominic Auer, the video gives visual life to the story of a rather enigmatic ritual, performed by the panther herself, waiting in a shapeless void, unveiling the sole wish of final purification. It’s the first glance at what PAAR has to offer, it’s the full experience – seen, heard, felt.

Running by the name of PAAR, three German artists forged their public personae to one sonic canvas to paint their musical visions in sound. Soaked in layers of classic New Wave and post-punk of the eighties, swathed by modern electronic sounds and experimental punk, PAAR have created a musical body consisting of an intriguing mix of simple beats, minimalistic synths, refined with steady textures of guitar and bass, sanded with distinctive lyrics and vocals. If Blade Runner had been set in the dystopian Berlin rather than the City of Angels, PAAR would have been the soundtrack.
