Taken from Samuel Hope’s debut album, the second release ‘Lead Me On’ is driven by an understated pulsating electro beat throughout, exemplifying the intensity and frustration of the lyrics. A testament to Hope’s songwriting skills, the track is underpinned by the melody of Hope’s distinctively effortless and emotive vocals. The mesmerising video veers away from conventional gender tropes where feeling, emotion and connection transcend all else. Hope sought to work with choreographer Zack Benitez in creating a world where both dancers encapsulate the heartbreak, loss and the fear of letting go of the universal quest for love.
Traversing both sides of the pond, New York native Hope embodies that of a restless bohemian. Past residencies have included Portland, London and Berlin where he currently finds himself, having travelling around Europe in between. Touring extensively over the years and honing his craft has culminated in the pending release of his debut album Other Man.
Samuel Hope’s debut album Other Man is out on 8th June (Filter Records)
