With the recent release of the Netflix and 3sat documentary series “Wie ein Fremder – eine deutsche Popmusikgeschichte” in 2021, SCHWARZ has gained significant attention. This captivating documentary follows six years of his musical career, from the early days of his indie band Voltaire to his current endeavors. In addition to composing music for numerous films such as “Tom meet Zizou,” “Trainer!,” and “Second Move Kills,” SCHWARZ has collaborated with a diverse range of artists including Schiller, Megaloh, Enno Bunger, and Robot Koch. Since 2016, he has been performing under the name SCHWARZ.
The opening seconds of “David Lynch” promise a Latin Rap reminiscent of Bad Bunny, followed by a guitar melody that echoes the folktronica stylings reminiscent of Milky Chance. However, what unfolds is a fascinating journey into the confusion of reality, reminiscent of the chaos brought upon by the pandemic and endless scrolling through doom and gloom.
