Video Premiere: Tertia May – ‘Tears In The Rain’

Tertia May, a rising talent in the UK jazz scene, unveils her video for ‘Tears In The Rain’, one of the standout tracks on her critically acclaimed EP ‘Kind Of Purple’. The video shows intimate footage of her in a room with purple hues, a reference of femininity as well as the EP. With a simple but effective series of sequences, May recalls a hazy nostalgia of a relationship that has turned sour, which perfectly complements the bittersweet-pop of the track itself. Both delicate and powerful, ‘Tears In The Rain’ is a pure treat for the senses.

Tertia recently performed lead single from the EP ‘Monsters In Your Bedroom’ for COLORS. The performance has drawn a huge fanbase as Tertia performs her song to perfection, merging different styles seamlessly to create something distinctly playful and unique.

The EP came together during recording sessions in the confines of a remote coastal hideaway, providing shelter from the tempestuous winter winds. Camped out in the house for a month, Tertia built the EP alongside rising UK producer Subculture and occasional visits from label co-director Ariel Cohen who contributed on guitar. ‘Kind Of Purple’ introduces Tertia May as an exciting rising talent, dishing up an intoxicating blend of pop bravura, soulful nuance and late-night comedown, all wrapped within a genre-shifting package.
