1tbsp Previews Debut Album With New Single ‘Carottes’

Australian producer 1tbsp (Maxwell Byrne) announces his debut album “big soaps,” set for release on February 5th, 2027. Marking the announcement, the producer shares his latest single “Carottes,” featuring French artist miki, alongside its accompanying video.

The collaboration came together in Paris during a two-hour window before miki departed on tour. Built around a soundbite from miki’s archive of found audio, which Byrne chopped to create the track’s core synth chords, the song draws inspiration from Stereo Nova’s 2007 album Remastered 1. The resulting track is weightless and sun-bleached, channelling a haze of French-pop romance in the lineage of Air’s “Sexy Boy.” Sung in French with a Korean bridge, “Carottes” captures a deadpan confessional about self-alienation, moving through expired vegetables and messy apartments into a tender reckoning with self-forgiveness.

Reflecting on the session, Byrne shares, “We really clicked instantly. miki has great taste.”

Launched in 2021 as an outlet for ideas outside his work as Golden Vessel, 1tbsp has expanded rapidly into sold-out headline tours across Australia, Europe, and North America. Moving freely between house, reggaeton, synth-pop, and global club textures, his debut album big soaps follows a season shaped by cultural reflection and consumerism, expanded further through his production company and label, dottidot.
