Berlin-based choreographer and performer Elizaveta Poliakova is set to debut her latest work, The Cloud, at Haus der Visionäre on June 26 and 27, 2026. Developed in collaboration with visual artist Dominic Kießling, the piece is an immersive choreographic installation that interfaces contemporary dance, kinetic sculpture, live sound, and light design to examine the concepts of instability, fragility, and environmental transformation.

The Architecture of the Performance

At the core of the work is a large-scale kinetic installation constructed from ultra-thin foil and plastic. Operating via air pressure, movement, and light, the object functions as a volatile presence within the space, continuously shifting its form and redefining the physical parameters for the performer.

Rather than relying on a linear narrative, The Cloud is structured around evolving states of tension and material resistance. The choreographic language moves between moments of control and instability, directly dictated by the unpredictable behaviour of the installation.
An Interdisciplinary Environment

The production expands beyond movement through integrated sonic and visual layers:

Sound: A live musician will provide an evolving sonic landscape, developed in direct dialogue with the performance and the physical space.

Light: Lighting designer Marco Di Nardo treats illumination as an active choreographic tool rather than standard stage scenography, continuously altering the viewer’s perception of the environment.

The Cloud has been conceptualised specifically for adaptable environments, transforming Haus der Visionäre into a temporary intersection of movement, sound, and kinetic architecture.
