As Águas da Saudade takes up the legend of Inês de Castro and King Pedro I of Portugal, a tale as ancient as the sea, as timeless as a black evening cloak—this story continues to live within the Portuguese Fado tradition. Fado, a musical form that compresses longing, honour, and unfulfilled love into a soft, deathless rhythm, keeps the legend alive. It fashions images that resonate across generations: the cloak of night, the crown’s golden edge, the sea’s restless blue, and the secret vow that began in royal halls and never fully faded.
As Águas da Saudade makes it more than a story: it interweaves legend with haute couture, sweeping through the silhouettes of contemporary Portuguese designers. Black dominates the night; gold traces the edges of moments; red flickers like the heartbeat of passion. The fabrics bear witness: heavy velvet, delicate lace, flawless cuts.
