Urban space is just cold infrastructure until culture decides to occupy it. For Berlin-based label sample030, this sentiment isn’t just a philosophy; it’s a collective movement. Standing firmly at the intersection of music, design, and global youth culture, the brand has built its identity by channelling the raw energy of the streets into sophisticated, high-end craftsmanship. With a name that nods to its roots in custom-made pieces (“sample”) and the city that breathed life into it (“030”), sample030 has fast become a uniform for local and international icons alike, dressing everyone from Ski Aggu and Nina Chuba to J Balvin and DJ Snake.

For the Spring/Summer 2027 season at Berlin Fashion Week, the label took over the monumental hangar of Flughafen Tempelhof to present RAW TERRITORY. The collection marks a pivotal final chapter in a trilogy, evolving the stories started in SS26 Ghetto Express and AW26 Storm the Block. Where previous seasons focused on navigating through systems, SS27 is about absolute occupation—the exact moment a community stops moving through a space and actively claims it through pure presence.
The choice of Flughafen Tempelhof was brilliant. A site historically designed for rigid transit and authority was entirely transformed by sample030’s collective energy. The runway traced paths of departure, rewriting the architectural narrative of the airfield through sound, repetition, and community presence. The garments themselves echoed this transition from transit to territory: progressive silhouettes, sharp utility details, and street-informed cuts elevated by meticulous tailoring.

Behind the scenes, the atmosphere was just as electric. Photographer Thilo Wilcke captured the frantic, beautiful energy of the collection coming to life, documenting the raw textures, pre-show focus, and the real community that fuels sample030’s forward momentum.
With “RAW TERRITORY,” sample030 didn’t just show a collection; they proved once again that they are one of the most vital pulses keeping Berlin’s progressive fashion scene alive.
