At the age of 20, he moved to London and studied acting and drama under the guidance of teachers amongst others such as Mariana Hill, Don Fellows, Claude Chagrin, Sir Dan Ackroyd and film director Anthony Simmons.
Although Caspar started out his career as an actor in film and television, he realized very quickly that he wanted to move to the other side of the lens, a place he would find way more appealing in order to tell his own stories. After all, he had been growing up mostly in the photographic studio of his father who had claimed a name for himself as food and still-life photographer. Needles to say that Caspar developed a fascination to experiment with cameras and different formats from an early age on. In 2004 he was awarded with gold at the German Film Awards with his first short film ‚Full Stop‘ in the category fiction. His follow up short film ‚Kinetosis‘ ran successfully at international film festivals and most notably was selected for competition at the Festival de Cannes in 2008.
As an award-winning image-maker, Caspar embarks on a personal downward journey towards the quintessence of the innermost nature of natural minimalism in storytelling, beauty and fashion. His photographs and films are often mysterious, diverse, natural raw and often with visible and invisible tension held in delicate balance between reality and fiction. Images of sometimes outer-worldly like characters stranded on earth with a haunting sincerity that makes them seemingly impossible to survive in real life.
