“I am a Chilean designer delving into fashion and creative direction, seeking to capture my own experiences and feelings in a relatable way in each project. Colita is a collection that ironically highlights the discrimination of short-stature queer men. The main aesthetic inspiration was born from camp, subtly quoting the Wizard of Oz and queer symbolism such as the use of lavender and pink.

This project was developed from a Latino perspective, representing the queer shortness in men as a feminized and infantilized person. These characteristics are stigmatized within a patriarchal society, where heterosexuality is a hegemonic practice and tallness is associated with power.

Historically, high height has been linked with masculinity and strongness, so the queer short man is transgressing the canonical masculine imaginary. In this context, short bodies usually feel cooped up in a hostile environment.”
