“My name is Ismael Alcalá and I am a twenty-seven-year-old photographer and graphic designer.
I was born and raised in Madrid, Spain – a country where art has always flown and there have been many artists. Even though each of us has its own style and personality, we can always meet and create singular works. Thanks to, as said, this particular side all of us – artists – have, and which we can always merge as shown below.
The opportunity when organizing a project with different artists is overwhelming. Carrying out the photoshoot is something I love; most of all when these partners are with whom I share references, styles, and ideas. In this case, where each of us is directly related to queer culture and is part of the LGBTIQ+ collective. Furthermore, our intention is to empower this minority we belong to, endorsing queer art and sending a message about support, union, and being respected.
At the same time, these kinds of acts encourage ideas to evolve and be developed more than previously established. The time is now, more than ever, to leave competitions at one side. The idea of supporting each other is essential in order to achieve our goals, and so to grow as individuals besides professionally.
All in all, DREAM ON is a value enhancement of union power from everyone’s goal. In this sense, this dream we are used to as “life” has been fulfilled in a clean, colorful, and even surrealist manner – lighting and style recall us to another era. And so do colors with movements and feelings, creating a psychedelic atmosphere that captivates the look.”
