#Lookbook – The 12th collection by ISO.POETISM BY TOBIAS BIRK NIELSEN is a story of a young sculptor and his intricate relation to his profession. It’s an inner battle of dealing with a feeling of imposter syndrome, which has led to an existence of hiding in his craft, yet constantly generating monolith sculptures as a maniac reaction to conquer the posttrial feeling, to fit in – and to “succeed” as a human being. It is an endeavour dictating an endless process of trying to improve, but never fully convincing anyone – nor himself.
As a development for the collection, an Artificial Intelligence programme has been used and trained to work on a dataset based on the visual history of the ISO.POETISM brand.
This included archive images going back from the first season to the latest – a dataset of more than 500 individual pictures – which evolved into 300 abstract pictures which later got extracted, and put into use for the creative process prior to the SS23 collection ‘IMPOSTRIAL MONOLITHS’.
