Kappa Futur Festival celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a spectacular weekend in Torino, Italy. All photos by Antonio Corallo. Passionate techno and house music enthusiasts from all corners of the globe came together in Torino, to be a part of the iconic Kappa Futur Festival’s 10th-anniversary celebration, held over three consecutive days.
With an impressive count of 100,000 tickets sold and a complete sell-out on Saturday and Sunday, Torino’s Parco Doro proved to be the ultimate destination. Attendees from a staggering 118 different nations gathered to experience the pinnacle of the electronic music scene, featuring a remarkable lineup of 105 DJs and artists performing across five distinct stages.
Under the blazing Italian sun and with temperatures hitting a scorching 30 degrees, the international crowd revelled in the festivities, dancing alongside dance music’s most influential icons. Major Lazer, Detroit legend Carl Craig, a special B2B performance by Diplo and Maceo Plex, the highly anticipated return of Swedish House Mafia for their only Italian show of the summer, the electrifying Peggy Gou, and The Martinez Brothers were just some of the superstar DJs that graced the stages. Other notable contributions came from Fatboy Slim, Sasha and John Digweed, and the legendary Carl Cox, who hosted his own stage for the first time with “Carl Cox Invites.”
In celebration of its milestone anniversary, Kappa FuturFestival introduced two new stages, “The Voyager” and “The Kosmo.” These additions brought the total number of stages to a delightful five, ensuring that festival-goers were treated to a diverse range of performances. Notably, “The Kosmo” was a groundbreaking project that brought together art, music, and technology, showcasing the extraordinary talents of artist Marinella Senatore. Complementing the experience was an on-site exhibition featuring digital artists, curated in partnership with Blackdove, renowned for bridging the gap between the art world and technology. The festival also welcomed a legion of esteemed photographers, including Oliviero Toscani, Massimo Vitali, Settimio Benedussi, and many others, to document the weekend’s mesmerizing moments.
The festival continued their hugely successful Cashless Program on-site and positively drove the economic impact on the city of Torino, generating an impressive 25 million Euros over the weekend. As Kappa FuturFestival continues to reign as the biggest electronic music festival in Italy, and one of the biggest in Europe, it looks forward to bringing even more people together in the beautiful setting of the post-industrial Parco Dora next Summer, with next year’s edition confirmed for July 5,6 and 7th.
