KÁRYYN Shares ‘Anthem For Those Who Know’

Armenian-American artist KÁRYYN has unveiled her latest musical creation, ‘Anthem For Those Who Know’, marking her first release in four years. Co-produced with the talented Hudson Mohawke. When asked about the inspiration behind the song, KÁRYYN expressed, “I wanted to give this song to you now because I think it speaks to the moment. It’s about standing up with the magnitude of peace in the face of violence of any kind. This was my own personal protest song for the last few years, for myself and my life.”

The deeply profound message of the song revolves around the themes of liberation, both personal and collective. KÁRYYN hopes that the song will instil strength in those who need it, encouraging them to speak truth to power and break free from fear and illusions. She further added, “If nothing else, know that you’re not alone, and if no one else knows, I know.”

Drawing from her own experiences, KÁRYYN emphasized, “I know what it’s like to be alone and afraid of being punished for speaking up. I also know the immense freedom that arises from embracing your worth & using your voice for the truth.”

Delving into her personal history, KÁRYYN weaves a rich tapestry of her lineage through scientific and spiritual language, reflecting on her childhood summers in Syria and winters in Indiana. Her debut project, The QUANTA Series, received acclaim from various reputable sources such as Pitchfork, WIRED, The Guardian, DAZED, Fact, and i-D, garnering a devoted following of fans and fellow artists including Björk, Actress, and Hudson Mohawke.

As KÁRYYN prepares to introduce new music in the coming year, she begins with this empowering release in the hopes that it will serve as a unifying call, both on a personal and collective level.
