“Sunny days at the end of summer, hot weather, the need for fresh air and three friends stuck in the city with nowhere to go. Hot weather in this city during this season is almost unbearable, however in this issue, young adults will react to it, looking for ways to get out of town not to get stuck in it.
Sweat, work, empty streets, a flat without air conditioning. As summer is approaching, it is hard to look for your oasis in the city you live in. This work puts Madrid on the map: many young people start their first jobs in the big city, most of them far from home and leaving their teenage years behind.
As youngsters, Alicia and Sara have lived this kind of summer and will continue to do so. Far from the Spain of holidays and beaches, there is also the Spain of job insecurity and youth unemployment.
It is after this that our characters find themselves: enjoying what’s next and making the city their own.”
